IS PAVLIK TAYLOR-MADE?

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

When Jermain Taylor fought Cory Spinks, Spinks was able to give the bigger fighter problems by circling Taylor thus giving Taylor awkward angles. In order for Taylor to beat the bigger Pavlik he must throw enough punches to keep the hard hitting Pavlik off rythym. Taylor must keep Pavlik frustrated by giving him hard angles such as the ones Spinks gave to Taylor. Taylor must be in top condition for this bout for he must do this for all 12 rounds. I see this as the only way that Taylor can win this bout, on the other hand the only way that Pavlik can win is by knocking out Taylor. Let’s face it if the fight goes the distance the chances of Pavlik winning the decision over Taylor are very slim, if The Executioner couldn’t do it what makes you think Pavlik can?

If Pavlik can back up Taylor the way he did Miranda then the curtains will fall, if Pavlik who hits like a ton of bricks is able to connect on Taylor then the razorback is in for a very long brutal night. If Taylor is to win tonight the sky is the limit for him. Taylor would then move up to 168 and challenge the winner of Calzaghe and Kessler then if he is to be victorious there he will then be forced to face the notorious Bad Chad Dawson at a catchweight of 170 pounds. It is no coincidence that Chad Dawson also fights tonight, even Stevie Wonder could see that Dawson vs. Taylor is a must. First Taylor must beat Pavlik and sorry to say but my gut is telling me that Pavlik will prevail tonight but my heart is saying Taylor. So you see I am torn between my heart and gut, Phil Collins once sang'’ I can hear you calling in the air tonight'’, and tonight we will see what Pavlik is really made of and more importantly we will see who knows more about boxing my heart or my gut.
