END OF A BARR-ERA?
Manny Pacquiao vs. Marco Antonio Barrera prediction- It is no secret that when these two fighters suared off in their first meeting, that Barrera was not at his best on that gloomy night. It is also no secret that many observers and fans alike feel that a focused or unfocused Barrera simply has very little chance in defeating the Pacman. So you see it was no surprise to me when HBO recently aired countdown to Pacquiao/Barrera that they ran their final edit by showing us a focused Barrera and a Pacquiao camp that seemed to be in chaos. The reason for this is based on purely marketing, HBO is hoping that enough viewers tuned in to watch the cowntdown and took the bait.
Well I for one did not take the bait, I feel that Barrera will keep this fight close on pure heart and will. Barrera will have to box and throw at least 15 jabs a round to be able to defeat the Pacman. If Barrera does this he wins almost as easy as when he beat Naseem Hamed. The chances of a bonafide slugger to turn back into a boxer at this stage of his career is not likely to happen. In saying that, I feel that the Pacman will launch his bombs from close or far distance, he will also baffle Barrera with his speed and power, but the Pacmans left crosses down the middle will tell the story. I am picking the Pacman to win by knockout in round 10, however the fight will be very close up to the point that Manny catches Barrera with a devastating left cross right down the middle.
