THE DEFINING DIA
There comes a time in everyone where a defining moment presents itself. The defining moment for Juan and Julio Diaz will arrive this Saturday night when the two great champions face off in unification. The winner in this bout will without a doubt reighn supreme in the lightweight division. So which Diaz will step up and capture this defining moment? Will it be Julio’s hard hitting boxing style? Or will Juans non stop punching tell the story?
We at this time are not sure which Diaz will show up, however something we are sure about is that the calm confident voice of Ronnie Shields will not be at Juans side on this night. Shields will be in the corner belonging to Evander Holyfield on that night as Evander will attempt to capture the heavyweight title for a fifth time against Sultan Ibragimov. So does that spell doom for Juan? I for one do not think so, even though Juan does get hit alot, I feel that a very focused Juan will show up and beat Julio with high volume punching.
For Julio to defeat Juan he must create distance and he must also land enough power shots in the process. Julio must play boxer in this war, Julio must not allow Juan to close in on the space between them. In other words Julio must play matador to the baby bull. As for the heavyweight fight that is going to take place on the same night, something tells me that Bernard Hopkins who will be in attendence in Russia will then challenge the winner. I may be crazy for even flirting with the idea, but hey stranger things have happened.
