Interview with Hugo Cazares
Saturday, January 26th, 2008Growing up in Los Mochis what Mexican fighter inspired you to become a boxer?
HC- At a young age, I had lots of conflicts in school. I got into boxing in order to get away from that. I seen boxers such as Julio Cesar Chavez and hoped that one day I would become a fighter like him.
Would you say that the Ivan Calderon fight has thus far been your toughest fight? If so, why was it your toughest fight? If not, who was your toughest fight?
HC- It was not a hard fight. He was a rebellious fighter who didn’t really fight. He is a boxer that fights with this legs which really isn’t a fighter. I think I fought a hard fight. I had some good rounds and I think the results should have been different.
If you were to fight Calderon again how would you fight him differently the second time around?
HC- I would fight the same. The only think I would do differently is hit harder and connect more.
Ulises Solis, Ivan Calderon, Nonito Donaire who would you like to face next?
HC- If the opportunity arrived, I would fight any three of those individuals All three are great fighters and it would be a great fight with either three.
Who wins in a dream match between yourself and Micheal Carbajal?
HC- I had the opportunity to approach him in Las Vegas at the . We are the same build It would be a great fight, a fight that the people would enjoy. It would definitely be a knock out fight. We are about the same build. He has arms made of rocks but I hit hard too. It would definitely be a dream match.
Thank you for your time and in closing what would you like to say to all your fans out there?
HC- To all of Chicago, go see a good fight. I hope Kermin Guardia comes prepare as I am. It shall be a great fight.
