UNCHARTED WATERS

Antonio Tarver will face ‘’Bad'’ Chad Dawson tomorrow night for Tarver’s IBF light heavyweight title. Tarver plans to school the wet behind the ears fighter that Tarver sees in Dawson, Tarver plans to take Dawson deep into uncharted waters, Is Dawson a good enough swimmer to swim out of the tide? Does Tarver have one more magic trick left in him?

In my eyes I feel that Dawson at this stage of Tarver’s career will be too quick, too strong, and too much for Tarver. In Dawson’s last fight he was taken deep into the blue sea by Glen Johnson, Johnson who is a relentless heart out pressure fighter is everything that Tarver is not.

For Tarver to beat the young lion, Tarver must bring every trick in the book with him and confuse the daylights out of Dawson, Tarver must bet everything he has on that left cross of his. Tarver’s slick southpaw style will be key, but all that depends on Tarver’s legs, can Tarver move his feet fast enough to create angles to take the young lion out of his game plan?

In my prediction, I don’t think that Tarver can, I see Dawson surviving the tide with a long stiff jab and a whole lotta speed. Look for Dawson to pull this one out in a close one to call, Dawson by SD.
