PACMAN HITMAN MAILBAG

Albert, I want you to know that when May comes around, we will all see why Ricky Hatton is the best 140 pounder in the world.. I am picking Hatton to demolish Manny and stop Manny by the 4th round!!! I hope you like my prediction and I hope that my prediction makes the mailbag. Eagon, Chicago

Happy New Year to you Eagon, I hope all is well in the city of wind. I agree that Hatton is the king at 140 pounds since no one has been able to beat him at that weight. Which is why I for one would not be shocked if Hatton was to derail the Pacquiao Express, however a 4 th round knockout is a very, very, bold prediction to make. If the fight was to take place at 147 pounds, I would favor the Pacman to stop the Hitman on cuts inside 8 rounds. Since this battle will take place at 140 pounds, the fight can go either way, I honestly feel that right now it’s a pick em fight.

Greetings Albert, and greetings to your staff, I love your work and very much respect your opinions and feedback. I am writing in today to let you and your readers know that I am predicting an even bigger 2009 for Manny the Great, Manny will destroy Hatton in May, then pound Mayweather jr. in August, then stop Cotto in December.. Long Live Manny Pacquiao. The champion of the world! Reeno, San Francisco

My man Reeno, greetings to you and thank you for writing in. As I wrote before, 2008 was a great year for Pacquiao, in 08 Pacquiao beat David Diaz as well as 2 future Hall of Famers in Marquez and De La Hoya, it was borderline perfection. It would be an amazing feat if Pacquiao could duplicate the masterpiece he painted in 08. If your prediction comes true, All Hail to Pacquiao, he would then be mentioned in the same breath as Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson. For your prediction to come true however, Pacquiao would first have to be the first to defeat Hatton at 140, which may not be an easy task to do, then Pacquiao would have to move back up to 147 and be the first man to beat Money May, as for Cotto, Cotto would first have to get past Antonio the Terminator, I for one do not think that Cotto can get past Tony. One thing is for sure, and that is that 2009 will be Pacquiao’s biggest money making year.

Albert, 2009 will be the return of Floyd, First he will come out of retirement and spanks Pacman in August for 12 million, then in December he will silence all his critics and will also spank Margarito for another 14 million. Can you also see this happening? Raymond B. Washington, D.C.

Mr. Ray B from the Wash, I can see Floyd beating Pacman the same way he beat Hatton in December of 07, I can also see Floyd beating Tony the same way he beat Baldomir in a very boring, snoring affair. The only thing that I can not see is ‘’Money May'’ getting out of bed for less than 15 million.. Where and when Floyd comes out of his rest, he will demand Oscar De La Hoya type of cash.

I think that if Hatton gets beaten down and knocked out by Pacquiao, Hatton should then retire. What do you think? Abel, Riverside, Ca.

Well Abel, if that is to happen, that would be a question that only Hatton would be able to answer for us. For starters, I myself at that point would make the fight between the winner of the Marquez/Diaz fight and make the fight happen at 140. If successful there, I would then give Britain a Goodbye Bout against Junior Witter or Amir Khan.

Albert I know that you are picking Margarito to beat Cotto again, but with the fight happening in New York this time, I believe that Cotto will feed of off the loud pro-Cotto crowd and beat Tony.. But I would not want Cotto to face Pacquiao, Pacquiao would beat Cotto easy .. way too much speed and power. What do you think? Manuel, Glendale, Az

Honestly Manuel, it will make no difference of the location, the location was not what did Cotto in the last time. It was Tony’s relentless pressure and sturdy chin that broke Cotto’s will and lead to Cotto’s tirring condition that eventually broke him down, it also didn’t help that the Margarito storm was only getting stronger in the later rounds. If the fight is in New York, Tony will be T.O.N.Y, Top Of New York baby.. as far as Cotto vs. Pacquiao goes, I feel that Cotto’s power and timing will devour the Pacman in an exciting clash.
