LUIS COLLAZO:THE STAR
On August 13,2005 Luis Collazo knocked out legend lightweight world champion Miguel Angel Gonzalez at the United Center in Chicago,after the fight Mr.Collazo had this to say after the tough fight.
“I was the world champion but I had never faced a legendary former champion in the ring,” Collazo said. “When I knocked him out in the eighth round I felt like I had truly arrived and that a new star was born that night.”Enter May 13,2006 it has been said that sometimes ones focus can be so immense that a single blink can wake you from that deep focus. a crisp left uppercut from Hatton sent Collazo to the canvas,in the first round of their encounter after the quick blink ,Collazo then used his slick southpaw style of boxing that made his opponent wish that he should have never crossed the pond in the first place…even though Ricky Hatton was awarded the fight at the end of the bout many people including myself believe that Luis was the true winner on that night, To me that was the night that a new star was born.. the adversity that Collazo displayed on that night was truly an enspiring thing to see..sometimes when you win you really lose,and sometimes when you lose you really win .truer words have never been spoken especially on that night..Luis is now training to fight the green eyed monster that is sugar Shane Mosley…a man that possesses speed,power,and a granite chin however he is also a fighter who is troubled by smart southpaws like Vernon Forest,Winky Wright,and Oscar De La Hoya.On February 10,2007 these two warriors will clash against one another in a no holds barred mega fight… Let it be known that I have not seen Luis Collazo blink since May 13,2006,need I also remind you that this time it’s not the focus that has him this way it’s the fire of a phoenix that is burning in his veins,to say that Luis Collazo is hungry would be an understatement ..this demon is starving…
