Boxing Predictions: Through My Eyes

Antonio Margarito vs. Paul Williams: Antonio’s powerful punches against the high volume punching Williams. Paul Williams’ work rate in the ring is unheard of (often throwing over 100 punches a round easily), and his conditioning is always at a peak level. To the naked eye both fighters match up fairly .Will the reach of Paul Williams pose problems for Margarito when Williams fires off his southpaw jab? Or will Margarito be able to land flush testing the young Williams’ chin ? So here is my prediction I think that the younger Williams will eventually get hurt in this one, but he will show the heart of a young champion and will beat Margarito on points. Paul Williams by SD.

Ricky Hatton vs. Jose Luis Castillo: When Castillo fought Mayweather he pretty much beat him by pressuring him into the ropes and pounding away devastating shots to the body.. well that was then and this is now and now he will face a fighter with the same exact style as himself, in Hatton. So when both of these trains collide who will still be standing at the end? My prediction in this one is that both fighters will still be standing in the end ..barely standing but still standing holding their own.. I am picking Castillo in this one I feel that the fact that so many people are saying that Castillo is shot, is only bringing fuel to him..Jose Luis Castillo by UD.

GOLDEN BOY VS. PRETTY BOY: History will always repeat itself. What I mean by that is this, judges will want to see a fight a real all out fight, in a fight of this magnitude the judges will not be nice to runners…in the past a huge fight like this took place between the Golden Boy and Felix Trinidad and even though Oscar boxed Trinidads ears off in the first 8 rounds of that fight Oscar then decided to jump on his bicycle for the remainder of the fight.. and it cost him dearly.. If the Pretty Boy is as smart as he says he is then he’d better not run. In saying that, trading shots toe to toe is a death wish on the Pretty Boy. I truly feel that in order to beat Oscar you need to bully him as Bernard Hopkins displayed and you must have blazing hand speed, physical strength, and endurance. Last time I checked the Pretty Boy has only two of these characteristics. In fact if Floyd is truly seeing this to be his last fight then he must stand and fight to earn his pound for pound glory. Floyds intelligence ring smarts with the timing that he possesses looks great in the opposition in which he has faced before, however lets think about this logically Floyd has never fought a world class boxer like Oscar. The key in this chess match will be power and technique and while Floyd holds one of these keys Oscar holds both. In Floyd’s last fight Mr. Merchant hurt Floyd’s pride and because of that Floyd has no other choice but to stand toe to toe and trade. That being said I am picking the Golden Boy to knock out the Pretty Boy inside 9 rounds..Oscar De La Hoya by KO.

These are just my opinions, if I am wrong I am sure it won’t be the last. So please leave us a comment and let us know what you think.
